Abstract: A method is proposed for calculating a multistage scheme for direct laser-plasma electron acceleration to overcome the effect of the pump beam dephasing and depletion. The method makes it possible to estimate the parameters of the plasma channel for each acceleration stage, as well as the allowable ranges of electron injection angles into the next stage. A three-stage acceleration of electrons up to an energy of 1 GeV with a beam charge of 400 nC is calculated.
Keywords: direct laser acceleration, multistage laser acceleration, laser acceleration of large charge electron beams.
