Abstract: The paper reports the latest research results from the scientists at the Kotelnikov Institute of Radioengineering and Electronics of RAS on inscription of long arrays of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) during the optical fiber (OF) drawing process. Optical characteristics of FBG arrays inscribed using UV laser light with a wavelength of 248 nm in both standard single-mode telecommunication fibers of the ITU-T G.652D standard and in multicore optical fibers are examined. It is shown that rotating the phase mask makes it possible to change the reflection wavelength within small limits in order to optimize the reflection spectrum of the FBG array without replacing the phase mask.
Keywords: fiber Bragg grating arrays, optical sensors, oblique strokes, multicore fibers.
