Abstract: A communication line without dispersion compensation is considered. A new type of phase-modulated format in which the Gaussian pulses with varying non-central chirp are transmitted is proposed. It is stated that there is a time shift between the pulses with respect to each other. Numerical simulation with the use of 8-PSK format as an example shows that this method of pulse shaping at the beginning of the line leads to a smaller nonlinear distortion of the signal even with relatively small chirps.
