Abstract: We report a study of a microwave discharge plasma excited in revolver silica fibers with a hollow core ∼100 μm in diameter. Temporal and spectral characteristics of the plasma glow are obtained for various inert gases and their mixtures filling the hollow core at different pressures. The hollow-core fiber demonstrates stability against the microwave discharge plasma that is maintained in the hollow core under periodically pulsed pumping with low enough duty cycle.
