Ring optothermic trap

Abstract: The feasibilities of an annular optothermal trap to capture and manipulate transparent micron-sized objects are studied experimentally and simulated numerically. Compared to point optothermal traps, an annular trap allows smoother control of particle motion by changing the laser beam power.
